Hello, my name is Krishna Pariyar, founder of Jungle Safari Tours.

I was born and raised in Sauraha, on the edge of Chitwan National Park in 1981. When I was born, this area was almost untouched wilderness. Dense forests surrounded small eco-friendly Tharu villages built from elephant grass, mud, and timber. Houses were far apart, and villages were separated by kilometers of forests, rivers, and grasslands.

People lived in complete harmony with nature. Families collected wild vegetables, fish from the rivers, and firewood from the forest. Drinking water came directly from natural sources. Villagers exchanged food, skills, and goods through barter. Every night, farmers slept in simple watch towers to protect their crops from rhinos, deer, wild boars, and sometimes elephants.

During the day, villagers entered the forest to gather essential resources. At night, wildlife visited the villages. Humans and animals shared the same landscape.

As a child, I watched adventurous travelers arrive in large overland vehicles, carrying all their equipment. They camped on river sandbanks, swam in the rivers, and explored the jungle with my father, who was a local guide. I often played with these visitors and listened to their stories. Those early experiences inspired me to dedicate my life to wildlife guiding and conservation.

In March 2007, I founded Jungle Safari Tours, a family-owned local company based in Sauraha, Nepal. Since then, I have guided thousands of travelers through the jungles of Chitwan and actively participated in tiger censuses, bird surveys, biodiversity research, flood clean-up campaigns, and conservation awareness programs.

Provide authentic, ethical, and sustainable jungle experiences while ensuring tourism benefits local communities directly.

We do not promote activities involving captive or exploited animals, such as elephant rides, horse carts, or other programs that compromise animal welfare. Instead, we focus on walking safaris, jeep safaris, canoe trips, homestays, and cultural experiences that respect both wildlife and local traditions.
